Corsair, a well-known name in the PC gaming hardware market, is facing customer criticism after a buyer reported that his $8,999 gaming PC order was unexpectedly cancelled. The situation attracted attention when the customer discovered that the same configuration was subsequently listed for $11,399, representing a $2,400 increase. What makes the situation particularly interesting is that Corsair later agreed to honor the original price, offering a more positive outcome to an otherwise frustrating purchasing experience.
The customer had reportedly ordered Corsair’s Millennium Gaming PC, a high-end desktop designed for demanding gaming and professional workloads. The configuration included an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, 64GB of DDR5 memory, and a 4TB solid-state drive. With a purchase price of $8,999.99, the system was expected to arrive between November 3 and November 5, 2026.
However, before the expected delivery window, the customer received an email informing him that his order had been cancelled. The notification reportedly listed potential reasons related to payment verification, including a mismatch between the billing address and the information associated with the credit card. It also mentioned situations where the billing address might not match the country from which the order was placed.
The customer, who shared the experience on X, questioned the cancellation and posted screenshots showing the original order details and Corsair’s notification. The email reportedly encouraged him to place the order again, but doing so presented another problem.
When the customer revisited the product listing, he discovered that the same Millennium Gaming PC configuration was now priced at $11,399.99. That meant purchasing the identical system would cost an additional $2,400 compared with his original order.
The timing naturally raised concerns, particularly because the customer had already received an order confirmation and an expected delivery window. Although payment verification issues can legitimately lead retailers to cancel orders, customers generally expect clear explanations and consistent pricing when attempting to resolve such situations.
This is also not the first time Corsair has faced similar customer complaints. Earlier reports highlighted other alleged order cancellations involving memory products and complete PC configurations, with pricing changes becoming part of the controversy. However, individual cases can involve different circumstances, and the reasons behind each cancellation need to be considered separately.
Following the public attention, Corsair reportedly responded to the customer and escalated the matter for further review. That response eventually led to a positive development.
In an update to the situation, it was confirmed that Corsair agreed to honor the original price for the customer’s new order. This means the buyer will not have to absorb the additional $2,400 increase to obtain the configuration he initially selected.
The incident highlights how important transparent pricing, reliable order processing, and responsive customer support have become in the premium PC market. High-end gaming systems already represent a substantial investment, making unexpected cancellations and price changes particularly frustrating for buyers.
Although the initial experience created understandable concerns, Corsair’s decision to honor the original price provides a constructive resolution. For customers considering expensive hardware purchases, the situation also serves as a reminder to retain order confirmations and payment records until a purchase has been successfully fulfilled.
